Terms of service

1. Agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and SJGD AS (org.nr 936662722, Norway), which runs the Ut. app. "We" and "us" mean SJGD AS.

By creating an account or using Ut., you accept these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. Who can use Ut.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Ut. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up. Giving a false date of birth breaks these Terms, and we delete accounts that belong to anyone under 18.

You can only have one account, and you can't use Ut. if we have banned you before.

3. Your account

You can sign up with your email address or with Apple. Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has access to it, change your password and tell us at sander@sjgd.no.

Your name and username must not pretend to be someone else, and must not be offensive. We may change or remove a username that breaks this rule.

4. What Ut. offers

Ut. helps you find somewhere to go out and go there with friends. It is free and currently covers Oslo. It lets you:

• Browse bars, clubs and events on a list or a map, filtered by type and sorted by distance

• See venue details such as opening hours, badges and beer prices

• Like events and save venues, and get suggestions based on the preferences you pick

• Add friends, chat one-to-one or in groups, and share events into a chat

• Play Spin the Wheel in a group chat to pick someone at random

We may add, change or remove features, or expand to other cities. We will try to give notice before removing something you rely on.

5. Rules for using Ut.

We have zero tolerance for abuse. You must not use Ut. to:

• Harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone

• Post hate speech, or attack people for their ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or similar

• Share sexual content, or any content involving minors in a sexual way

• Share someone's private information, or photos or messages of them, without their permission

• Sell or arrange drugs, weapons or anything else illegal

• Pretend to be another person or organisation

• Spam, advertise or run scams

• Create accounts automatically, or come back after a ban

• Interfere with the app, scrape it, or try to reach data or systems you're not allowed to

Breaking these rules can get your content removed and your account suspended or banned. We report illegal content to the police where appropriate.

6. Your content and messages

You own what you write in Ut. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process and show it, only as needed to run Ut. That means delivering your messages to the people you sent them to, showing your profile, and moderating. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

We don't read private messages as a matter of routine. We look at them only when someone reports them, to investigate abuse, or when the law requires it.

You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

7. Blocking, reporting and moderation

Blocking. You can block anyone from their profile or a chat. Blocking ends your friendship and stops them messaging you or sending you friend requests. You can unblock people in Profile → Safety & legal → Blocked users, but that doesn't restore the friendship.

Reporting. You can report a user or a single message from the app. Choose a reason and add details if you like. The person you report is not told who reported them.

What we do. We review reports within 24 hours. If content breaks these Terms, we remove it and may warn, suspend or ban the account responsible. For serious or repeated breaches we ban without warning. If you think we got a decision wrong, email sander@sjgd.no and we'll look at it again.

8. Venue, event and price information

Venue details, events, opening hours, beer prices and badges come from public sources, from venues, and from our own checks. They can be out of date or wrong. Check with the venue before you rely on them, especially for prices, opening times, age limits and entry rules.

Venues are listed so you can find them, not because they pay us or because we recommend them. We are not responsible for what happens at a venue or event.

9. Going out safely

Ut. helps you plan a night out, but you're responsible for your own choices. Drink responsibly and follow venue rules and the law, including the rules on serving alcohol. Never drink and drive.

Take care when meeting people you only know from the app. If someone makes you feel unsafe, block and report them. In an emergency, call 112 (police) or 113 (ambulance).

10. Location and notifications

Ut. asks to use your location while the app is open, to show what's near you. It doesn't track you in the background or share your location with other users. Without location, Ut. still works, but you won't see distances.

If you allow notifications, we tell you about new messages and friend requests. You can turn location and notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.

11. Our intellectual property

The Ut. name, logo, design, code and the venue and event collection we've put together belong to SJGD AS. You may use the app for your own, non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell, scrape or reverse-engineer it without our written permission.

12. Ending your account

You can leave at any time. Delete your account in Profile → Delete account. This is permanent: your profile, friends and every message you sent are deleted, including in group chats. The Privacy Policy explains what is kept and for how long.

We can end or suspend your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your account puts other users at risk. Where reasonable, we tell you why. We may also close Ut. entirely, in which case we'll give at least 30 days' notice in the app.

13. Disclaimers and liability

Ut. is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and correct, but we can't promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that its information is accurate.

To the extent the law allows, SJGD AS is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for what other users say or do, or for anything that happens at venues or events found through Ut.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence or intent, or takes away your rights as a consumer under Norwegian law.

14. Changes, law and contact

Changes. We may update these Terms when the app or the law changes. For important changes, we tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Ut. after that, you accept the new Terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.

Law. Norwegian law applies. If we disagree, we'll try to solve it with you first. Otherwise, the dispute goes to the Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett), unless consumer law gives you the right to use your local court. You can also contact Forbrukertilsynet, the Norwegian consumer authority.
